  1. Will you work with the parent's schedules to have this annual parent conference? Also, what about having a few at different times to make sure parents can work it into their schedules?

    1. I will most definetly attempt to work with the parents as much as possible. Our monthy parent conferences are currently held on Thursdays at 5:30. You bring up a good point that our numbers may be so low due to parent's inability to attend due to work. However, we due offer child care and dinner is provided to those that due attend.

  2. I like this topic and think it will benefit lots of students. The idea of a survey is good. Many parents of migrant students can often be reluctant to show up on a campus.

    1. I completely agree about the reluctancy of parents. I am realizing now that not all of our parent's are legal residance, and therefore, they think their participation in the schooling of their children will jeopardize their ability to stay in the country.

  3. I decided to follow your blog because we have the same topic. I really like that you are focusing on a particular population. Your research seems like it will produce positive results, and I look forward to seeing how it goes next semester. By the way, did you choose the migrant population due to numbers on your campus report?

    1. Actually yes. We have only 12 current parent volunteers at our campus and about 500 students. So that's what got me on the parental involvement topic. I then leaned towards the migrant population because not one of our migrant parents are volunteers.
